real moms. Real words. Real journies.

"Theresa has been incredible. My baby and I have been through the ringer for the last 4 mouths. After seeing 3 different lactation consultants and not feeling heard, I found Theresa. She was recommended via a tongue tie group and my daughter was schedule to have her tie the next day. I submitted a form of interest to Latch on Babies and Theresa reached out to me minutes later. We hadn’t even begun working together yet and she texted me the day of my daughters release and the day after to check in. I knew she was going to be great for us. Theresa did an at home visit with us where I told her all my concerns and shared my story of what’s gotten us here. I have never felt more supported in our breastfeeding journey as I did with Theresa that first day, and still do! Theresa offered her knowledge and expertise to help us come up with a plan to ensure my supply wasn’t effected anymore than it was before my daughters release, and she helped guide me on increasing it. Whenever I need Theresa and it’s not during our scheduled visits, I can text her and she always takes the time to assist. When I’m feeling low and upset and wanting to quit, she is there to lend an ear and remind me I’m doing the best for my daughter and everything will be okay. If you are in need of a lactation consultant or maybe you aren’t getting the support you need from your current one, I cannot recommend Latch on Babies and Theresa enough!! Thank you times a million.”

“I was totally impressed by Theresa’s professionalism, kindness, and wealth of knowledge!! After having a negative experience a few years ago with a hospital lactation consultant, I was hesitant to work with a consultant even though I knew I needed help. Theresa immediately put me at ease because she was very friendly and wanted to know how to help support me in whatever my goals were. I loved all her tips, tricks, and anatomy lessons, and I EXTREMELY underestimated how much I would value her emotional support. She was always available to help, answer questions, and even bigger - offer encouraging words that kept me going! It was SO nice to feel like I had a cheerleader in what is sometimes a thankless job. I continue to share updates on my daughter with her because we miss her!!”

“Theresa has been a blessing to me and my husband as we entered the world of parenthood this year! We met with her prior to our daughter's arrival and she provided us with a great deal of information, tips, and tricks for breastfeeding that helped me to feel prepared ahead of time for what was to come. Once our baby was born, she checked in with me frequently, even while I was still in hospital, to see how nursing was going and provided practical support for improving the process as well as moral support, as breastfeeding requires work and dedication. I have met with her several times over the first several weeks of my daughter's life and Theresa has always been a genuine and caring support system to help me through the ups and downs of being a new mom. I highly recommend her to expecting mothers, both new and seasoned, for your lactation needs!”

“At first I didn’t think I needed a lactation consultant and I’m so glad I contacted Latch on Babies. I learned so much and I feel so much more confident in what I’m doing. After Theresa gave me tips and tricks may baby is feeding so much better. Not only is she professional she takes the time to get to know your family and is very prompt with responses. I think everybody should have a consult with a lactation consultant and I definitely suggest Latch on Babies for that!”

-Heather (Fenton, MI)

“Theresa was very helpful and helped me put my mind more at ease about feeding and pumping. I was worried about my supply but she gave me confidence to keep going. She was very knowledgeable about everything and had a lot of good tips and tricks. She helped with my pumping pain as well. Would definitely recommend!”

-Ashley (New Hudson, MI)

“Theresa is very knowledgeable and sweet. She addressed my concerns regarding my oversupply and helped me get on a safe schedule to wean properly. I would highly recommend her to any mom's out there needing help with breastfeeding and/or pumping.”

-Neveen (Sterling Heights, MI)

“Theresa has been absolutely wonderful throughout our entire breastfeeding journey. She helped us transition from essentially 100% formula fed in my daughter’s first week of life to now exclusively breastfed. We’ve worked through a difficult latch and positioning, troubleshooting my pump, low supply in the early days, and now planning a back to work pumping schedule. She has been so supportive every step of the way and is always available when I have questions. She always checks in on us to make sure things are going well. There’s no way I would have made it this far without her! I would recommend her to anyone and everyone in a heartbeat!”

“As a first time mom that attended many parenting, breastfeeding, and birthing classes, I thought I knew what to expect once I had my baby. Little did I know that my learning journey was just beginning. The week that my baby was born , I reached out to Theresa.  I was having a very difficult time helping my baby latch on properly. I was also experiencing so much pain that I thought to myself, “breastfeeding is not for me”.  I was ready to give up on something that meant so much to me. When I explained my concerns to Theresa, she carefully listened, did not judge me, and guided me during a moment when I felt most vulnerable. Not only did she help me in moments of crisis, she also followed up with me to make sure I was staying hydrated and consuming the amount of calories my body needed to successfully nurse my baby. Her follow-up calls and messages always reassured me that I made the right choice of trusting her with something so personal and important for me. Thanks to her support and genuine care,  I am now on month 6 of breastfeeding my son and plan to continue to do so for at least another 6 months.”

“In October of 2019, I welcomed twin boys into the world. They came early at thirty-one weeks and went straight to the NICU upon birth. Being a NICU parent is something you do not plan on being, but when you are put in the position, you must make the best of it. Theresa took care of the boys while they were in the hospital, monitoring, checking, and feeding them. Not only did she care for the boys, she was there to care and support me, their mom, as well. Many days, Theresa was there to listen to my worries and calm my fears. She always served as a comfort and gave me encouragement on the tough days. One area in which I was extremely grateful for her support was breastfeeding. I had previously breastfed my daughter for fourteen months, but I had never breastfed a premature baby, let alone two premature babies. Theresa had a lot of knowledge and was able to help successfully latch both babies. After a month in the hospital, the boys were discharged. Theresa continued to provide support by checking in on our family and giving us the encouragement we needed raising three babies under the age of eighteen months. I am so blessed to have met Theresa and feel privileged to have had her guidance.”

“When I gave birth to my second son, I already had a 2 year old at home. As this wasn’t my first experience with breastfeeding, I didn’t give it much thought before my son arrived. I assumed it would be similar to my experience with my first son and honestly, I had completely forgotten about the beginning stages of breastfeeding and was only remembering what breastfeeding looked like when I stopped nursing at 14 months. That’s where Theresa came in! I was introduced to Theresa through a good friend and she couldn’t have come into my life at a better time. I had so many questions, concerns and overall anxiety when it came to breastfeeding the second time around. She constantly reminded me that you can’t compare your experiences with your first child and she was going to be there to help along the way. Theresa got me through so many rough times- from engorged breasts & armpits (ouch!), an overactive letdown, clogged ducts, sleepless nights, and pumping & storing milk for returning to work. Theresa is a NICU nurse and specializes in more than lactation which definitely came in handy throughout  the newborn stage. I would highly recommend Theresa for anyone looking for lactation support (or general support during those early days) and can't thank her enough!”

“Theresa Hope was recommended to me by a close family friend a few days after we brought our first baby boy home from the hospital. I knew from seeing some of my friends go through it, that breastfeeding could be challenging, especially in the early stages, but the anxiety and helplessness I felt not being able to properly feed my newborn son was exhausting and quickly eclipsing the joy just bringing home our baby.

Theresa turned everything around in an instant. She was truly a beacon of light when we needed her most and within a day of working with her I felt happy and at ease and most importantly that my baby was latching properly and getting enough to eat!

Theresa made us feel so cared for — texting both my husband me to check in, and updating us on challenges we may encounter at different stages and how to deal with them. She made the transition to new nursing mom so much easier and was so warm and lovely to work with I felt like I was consulting a friend. I have recommended her to many of my new mom friends and cannot praise her enough. Thank you Theresa!”

-Sofie (Manhattan, NY)

After exclusively breastfeeding two babies, I thought the third would be easy. But after a surprise delivery at 32 weeks, I found myself facing some new feeding challenges. I am so thankful that Theresa was a part of our time in the NICU. She is helpful and knowledgeable, but more importantly, she always took the time to listen, teach, and offer suggestions. She is attentive and supportive and was a consistent and much-needed source of encouragement during those initial weeks with our tiny newborn! Feeding was our biggest obstacle to bringing baby home, and her presence and advice was invaluable for helping us achieve that milestone. I highly recommend contacting Theresa for guidance with babies and breastfeeding!
