“It is amazing to have witnessed the miracle of life, and to see how resilient mothers, fathers and newborns can be. To be the support person for mothers during such a vulnerable and special time is a true honor. There is something extraordinary about helping a mom achieve their breastfeeding and pumping goals, whatever they may be, and be a part of their journey.”

—Theresa Hope Madoun, RN, BSN, IBCLC

My story begins from birth. I was born four months premature, weighing less than a pound and spent the first 89 days of my life in the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU). My NICU journey, led me to my passion in nursing, and has given me empathy as a registered nurse (RN) and International Board Certified Lactation Consultant (IBCLC).

I have a Bachelors in Psychology from the University of Michigan and a Bachelors in Science and Nursing (BSN) from Oakland University. I am licensed in the states of Michigan, California and Florida.

I have nursing experience in Neonatal Intensive Care and Pediatrics and was the recipient of the 2020 DAISY Award for extraordinary Nurses (the highest award for nurses.) In the NICU, many of my job responsibilities were educating and supporting mothers through the lactation process. It became apparent early on the privilege in helping mothers with something so special. I became an IBCLC and founded Latch on Babies LLC, a safe place for mothers to come for all their breastfeeding/pumping needs.
